PDCD4 Antibody specifically recognizes Programmed Cell Death Protein 4 (PDCD4), a ~64 kDa nuclear and cytoplasmic tumor suppressor protein involved in the regulation of translation and transcription. PDCD4 inhibits cap-dependent translation by binding to eIF4A and preventing its helicase activity, thereby modulating protein synthesis of growth-related genes. It also participates in apoptosis, cellular differentiation, and inhibition of neoplastic transformation. PDCD4 expression is downregulated in various cancers and is negatively regulated by oncogenic signaling pathways, including PI3K/AKT/mTOR and miR-21. PDCD4 antibodies are critical tools in cancer research and are validated for applications such as Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, and immunoprecipitation to assess expression levels, cellular localization, and post-translational regulation.
