SFTPC antibody - 100µg
SFTPC Antibody targets Surfactant Protein C (SFTPC), a ~21 kDa hydrophobic peptide predominantly expressed in alveolar type II epithelial cells within the lung. SFTPC is synthesized as a proprotein (pro-SP-C) and undergoes post-translational processing to yield the mature peptide critical for reducing surface tension in the alveoli, thereby preventing alveolar collapse during respiration. Mutations or dysregulation of SFTPC are associated with interstitial lung diseases, including familial pulmonary fibrosis and neonatal respiratory distress syndrome. SFTPC antibodies are essential for detecting both pro- and mature forms of the protein in Western blot, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry, and are widely used as markers for alveolar epithelial cell differentiation and lung-specific lineage tracing.
