PPY antibody - 100µg
The PPY antibody is a high-specificity immunoreagent targeting Pancreatic Polypeptide (PPY), a 36-amino acid peptide hormone secreted primarily by F-cells (or PP cells) in the pancreatic islets of Langerhans. PPY is a member of the neuropeptide Y (NPY) family and plays a critical role in regulating gastrointestinal motility, pancreatic exocrine secretion, and hepatic glycogen levels, often in response to protein-rich meals, fasting, or hypoglycemia.
The antibody is typically raised against either the full-length native peptide or a synthetic peptide fragment corresponding to the human PPY sequence, ensuring sequence specificity and minimal cross-reactivity with structurally related peptides such as NPY or PYY (Peptide YY). It is frequently used in immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) for the detection and quantification of PPY expression in both normal pancreatic tissue and neuroendocrine tumors (e.g., PPoma).
